It Can Mean Much More Than This
We can have a broader and more complete definition of peace than simply the absence of war.
Love of peace can cover anything from the absence of social turmoil, to being comfortable with an inner quiet and calm for effective self-communication. It can mean a peaceful and supportive working environment, or an amicable household. That is not to say that everything has to be silent in order to be peaceful.
"All the energy in the world is available
to you, but it is at rest." - Hale Dwoskin
To that end, then, we can develop a love of peace as a potential like any other to ever greater and ever deeper levels, both individually and collectively.
Peace can mean peace from our doubting minds, quietening the critic within. It can also mean learning to communicate with others in a harmonious way that sees the whole picture as a whole picture.
And as David noted in our 'Happiness' audio, it is about 'being free from envy and craven desire'.
By focussing on love of peace in the positive, rather than allowing our minds to focus on what we don't want, we can grow both our own peace, and our own love of peace.
These are enhanced by appreciation of the peace we have, and excitement and anticipation about the even greater and deeper levels of peace which we may have yet to come.
