Physical Potential
Our foucs on our physical potential is not neccessarily about becoming elite athletes, although that can be part of it, but it's about getting the most out of our bodies and out of our experience with our bodies; feeling good about doing things, enjoying the activities we do, and making the most of our body wisdom.
If you look at the top of the page, you'll see the quote from David about listening to the body, and this is something which we practice as, perhaps, our first principle of body wisdom; that we 'hear what's going on with our bodies and respond to that'. This in turn can help us with making sure we do things for the right reasons, and enjoy what's going on.
"This section looks at an effortless and enjoyable way to embrace our potential for physical fitness."
Perhaps alongside that principle is the approach of removing unhelpful and false limitations - the 'he's good for his age' and 'take it easy at your time of life', see 'There Is No Clock' linked to below, and 'Removing The Artificial Barriers' on the Strength for Life site.
We also have some wonderful resources to link you with. Starting with our own, the Strength for Life site, and audio CD by the same name, which presents much of David's wisdom and knowledge of the body. Plus such tools as that of the Wild Divine project, which can be useful in helping us get to know our bodies, and our mind-body interconnectedness.
Above all else, this section is about quality of life. We are all athletes at what's known as A.D.L., Activities for Daily Living, and so the aim is to provide the means and wisdom to help us all enjoy our bodily experiences, such as our movement, our flexibility, our sleep, our breathing, our comfortableness, our sensory experience and so forth, as much as we can, effectively and harmoniously.
So here are some links to that effect;
